Ethics in Ageing Services

Back by popular demand, Dr. Michael Gillette returns to lead one of the conference’s most engaging and thought-provoking sessions.

Through real-world case studies and lively discussion, this highly interactive keynote will explore some of the most challenging ethical questions facing aging services providers today. Dr. Gillette will share practical strategies for identifying, analyzing and resolving ethical dilemmas across the full continuum of care, from home-based services to residential settings.

Together, participants will tackle issues such as autonomy and dignity of risk, balancing risks to others, family involvement and control, and the professional responsibilities of staff and organizations. Drawing on compelling examples from across aging services, this session will challenge assumptions, spark conversation and leave attendees with practical tools they can use immediately.

From Administrator to Neighbor: Finding the Heart in Senior Living

End the day with a session that will remind you why this work matters.

In this uplifting and inspiring closing keynote, Dr. Lisa Ippolito invites attendees to reconnect with the purpose behind their work and leave re-energized, inspired and proud to be part of aging services. With more than 25 years of experience in assisted living and long-term care, Dr. Ippolito brings a rare and powerful perspective: the story of the time she lived as a resident in her own assisted living community.

What began as a temporary housing solution became a transformative experience that changed the way she led, listened and connected. Through candid stories, humor and heartfelt reflection, Dr. Ippolito will challenge attendees to see aging services through the eyes of the people they serve and rediscover the extraordinary impact they make every day.
