WORCESTER, Mass., October 19, 2026 – LeadingAge Massachusetts and LeadingAge Maine & New Hampshire have approved a merger to form LeadingAge New England – North, opening a new chapter for their member communities across Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. The new association is planned to begin operations on January 1, 2027.

Built on years of shared programs and events, the partnership brings together two strong associations with a common purpose: helping nonprofit providers advance care, housing, and services for older adults. LeadingAge New England – North will draw on the strengths of each association, creating more opportunities for members to learn from one another and put new ideas into practice.

Members will have access to expanded education and a broader network of peers, alongside the personal service and advocacy they value.

Massachusetts members approved the merger at the association’s 72nd Annual Meeting on October 14 at the College of the Holy Cross. LeadingAge Maine & New Hampshire’s Board approved the merger following a member comment period that drew positive feedback. The comment period ran alongside Massachusetts’ proxy voting window.

Marge Mantoni, President and CEO of The Loomis Communities, and Leanne Fiet, Chief Operating Officer and Administrator of Piper Shores, will serve as Board co-chairs in 2027, bringing leadership from both associations to LeadingAge New England – North.

The staff team will include Elissa Sherman as President and CEO, Lisa Henderson as Chief Member Experience Officer, Sarah Lacasse as Chief Operating Officer, and Jeanmarie Roberts as Member Engagement Manager.
