Participants will gain a clear understanding of compliance expectations for dining environments, therapeutic diets, and staff training, as well as practical tools to support survey readiness. It will also demonstrate how to use CMS Critical Element Pathways to conduct effective mock surveys and identify potential gaps.

For over a decade, Marissa Murphy has been a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and has gained valuable experience in a variety of leadership roles in acute care and long-term care facilities. Marissa earned a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Human Nutrition with a concentration in Dietetics from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, IL. Her Dietetic Internship was completed at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA. Marissa holds professional memberships with the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics (AND) and American Society for Parenteral and EnteralM Nutrition (ASPEN). Marissa is on the Dietitian Education Program Advisory Committee for the University of Alabama at Birmingham to further promote the support of nutrition students.
As the Vice President of Clinical Nutrition & Wellness since the inception of Forefront, Marissa leads the nutrition and wellness services with a focus on clinical standards, regulatory compliance, wellness initiatives, and program innovation. In addition, she promotes and advocates for the role of the Registered Dietitian in healthcare and fostering the relationship between the clinical and culinary teams.
