LeadingAge Massachusetts member organizations are invited to recognize those whose work exemplifies commitment, innovation, leadership, service, and excellence. A thoughtful nomination ensures that the people and ideas strengthening our field receive the recognition they deserve.
Award recipients will be celebrated at the 2026 LeadingAge Massachusetts Annual Meeting.

Individual Award
Emerging Leader Award
Recognizes an employee who has assumed additional leadership responsibilities within the past five years and demonstrated vision, relationship-building, and strong organizational capability.
Eligible nominees: Employees at any LeadingAge Massachusetts member organization.

Individual or Group Award
Heart and Hands Award
Honors an employee or group of employees whose exceptional relationships with residents or clients provide special enrichment and enhance quality of life beyond the usual scope of their roles.
Eligible nominees: Employees at any LeadingAge Massachusetts member organization.

Individual or Group Award
Volunteer of the Year Award
Honors a volunteer or group of volunteers whose exceptional commitment and dedication enhance the quality of life for older adults and their communities.
Eligible nominees: Volunteers, including Board members, at any LeadingAge Massachusetts member organization.

Individual Award
Barbara A. Doyle Memorial Distinguished Service Award
Recognizes an individual whose sustained leadership, mentorship, service, integrity, and commitment have made an extraordinary and lasting contribution to not-for-profit aging services.
Eligible nominees: Current or retired leaders, staff, volunteers, Board members, partners, advocates, and others whose contributions have had a meaningful and enduring impact.

Organizational Award
Innovation & Impact Award
Honors a provider member organization that has implemented an innovative program, practice, or initiative with the power to transform aging services. Innovation may involve care delivery, workforce development, technology, programming, customer experience, organizational culture, or emerging trends.
Eligible nominees: Any LeadingAge Massachusetts provider member organization.

Emerging Leader Scholarship
The 2026 Emerging Leader Award recipient will receive a scholarship to a future LeadingAge National Annual Meeting & EXPO, including complimentary registration and up to $1,500 for travel and accommodation expenses.

Write Your Nomination
Respond to the applicable award prompts in a typed document and save the completed nomination as a PDF.

Gather Supporting Materials
Compile letters of support, photos, program descriptions, or other documentation as a PDF. Follow the full instructions for any video or audio materials.

Enter the requested information and upload the nomination PDF and any supporting documentation before the deadline.

Tips for a Strong Nomination
Be clear and specific.
Explain what the nominee did, why it matters, and how the work aligns with the award criteria. Define technical details or organizational context.
Invite others to contribute.
A collaborative nomination can bring forward a fuller picture of the nominee's leadership, relationships, service, or impact.
Use stories and outcomes.
Specific moments, examples, results, and voices help the Awards Committee understand the depth and lasting significance of the contribution.

Nominations must be submitted by Friday, September 4, 2026. Award recipients will be selected by the LeadingAge Massachusetts Award & Recognition Committee and recognized at the 2026 Annual Meeting.
