David A. Ball is President & Founder of Ball Consulting Group, LLC, an award-winning, full-service strategic communications and public relations firm he founded in July of 2004 that specializes in health care, nonprofits, senior care, education, and housing. Ball Consulting Group assists clients in developing and articulating their message; building awareness and public support through media relations; preparing for and managing crises; and launching new products, services, causes, and ideas.
Mr. Ball is an advisor and counselor on sensitive and complex matters to CEOs across New England and the nation. He is considered a leading crisis communicator and has been quoted on the subject in Forbes, The Boston Globe, The New York Times, and many other publications.
Before launching Ball Consulting Group, Mr. Ball was Vice President for Communications at the Massachusetts Health and Hospital Association (MHA).
Prior to joining MHA, Mr. Ball was Group Manager for a Boston-based public relations firm. He oversaw the Public Affairs/Crisis Communications Group and created a health care practice for the firm.
Mr. Ball previously had served for four years as Director of Communications for the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services.
Prior to that, Mr. Ball was Director of External Affairs for the MassHealth, the state Medicaid agency. Earlier, he was Director of the MassHealth Prior Approval Unit.
Mr. Ball also served as Vice President for Communications at the Massachusetts Extended Care Federation (now the Massachusetts Senior Care Association).
He is a frequent contributor to varied publications including Drug Topics, McKnight’s Long-Term Care News, and O’Dwyer’s PR magazine. From 2021 to 2022, he served a term as the President of PR Boutiques International, a global association of 40 independently owned and founder-led boutique PR firms. He now serves on the organization’s board of directors.
