Speaker Bio: Elisa Bovee, Vice President of Clincal Strategy, HealthPRO Heritage
Elisa has worked in the health care industry for more than 20 years by advocating for patients through education and clinical guidance.
With a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from Tufts University, Elisa has extensive experience working in Post-Acute Care environment educating all members of the interdisciplinary team including clinicians, managers, operators, owners, and investors. She collaborates with executive leadership teams to develop clinical, compliance, and reimbursement strategies. Her expertise includes regulatory guidelines; dementia program development; production and delivery of education and compliance programs; advanced-level treatment planning; reimbursement and skilled documentation for nursing and therapy professionals. Elisa shares her expertise nationally, speaking for several association groups to provide guidance on regulatory and clinical topics.
As Vice President of Clinical Strategies, Elisa brings her enthusiasm to provide leadership, management and vision to ensure that clinical education, resources, and systems are in place that effectively support the clinical mission of providers as well as support the clinical mission and financial strength while ensuring operational efficiency. Currently, Elisa works closely with providers to carry out the Health Care Redesign process. Through marketplace analysis, program analytics and systems evaluation, Elisa develops a Strategic “Roadmap” for optimal market development and positioning to enhance referrals, census and patient outcomes while also promoting successful transitions to next level of care.
Her knowledge and extensive experience includes guiding skilled nursing facilities through the medical record review process known as additional development requests as well as all claim denial phases. Elisa served as an appeals coordinator for a national nursing home company, working with facilities to address Medicare denials. Additionally, she has participated as an expert witness in multiple cases.
Elisa has contributed to several articles featured in industry-leading post-acute care periodicals. Her expertise is sought after by MDS coordinators, Rehabilitation Directors, and staff on MDS coding, RUG-IV, QAPI, Compliance, case management, therapy and nursing documentation, as well as denials management.
