What's New?

LeadingAge Massachusetts, formerly MassAging, is the only organization representing the full continuum of mission-driven, not-for-profit providers of health care, housing, and services for older persons in Massachusetts. Members of LeadingAge Massachusetts provide housing and services to more than 25,000 older persons in the Commonwealth each year.

The mission of LeadingAge Massachusetts is to Expand the World of Possibilities for Aging. We strive for this by leading in innovative practices that transform how we care for our aging population, spear-heading cutting-edge initiatives to develop services that meet older adults’ needs and preferences, and advocating to advance the interests of the aging consumer.

Our national partner, LeadingAge, is an association of 6,000 not for profit organizations dedicated to expanding the world of possibilities for aging. Together, we advance policies, promote practices and conduct research that supports, enables and empowers people to live fully as they age.

  • 2015 Achievement Award nomination forms are now available! Do you know someone who goes above and beyond their responsibilities? A special volunteer, co-worker, resident, or Board Member? Make that person feel special by nominating them for an Achievement Award!
    These awards publicly acknowledge the accomplishments and contributions of those who exemplify and advance the missions of LeadingAge Massachusetts’ member organizations. These awards will reveal examples of the commitment, innovation, leadership and excellence within LeadingAge Massachusetts member organizations.   • Using Insights and the 5-Star Predictor Tool - FREE Educational Session
    We invite LeadingAge MA Nursing Home Member to join us for this timely educational program that will provide you with practical ways to use LeadingAge Insights, a collection of tools and resources available to members including the new 5-star predictor tool, to analyze and monitor publicly reported data.  Identify strategies for data use internally and externally including quality improvement, staff education, and discussions with other health-care entities.  Using real-time case studies, we will review recommended steps on how to conduct an in-depth analysis of Medicaid cost data, Nursing Home Compare information, 5-star ratings, and Medicare hospital re-admissions to better understand your market position and to assist in discussions with potential partners.

  • Call for Sessions - 2016 Annual Conference and Exhibition!
    We invite you to submit a session proposal for the 2016 LeadingAge Massachusetts’ Annual Conference.  This conference is a one-day conference and exhibition attended by more than 300 individuals who provide housing and services for the aging.  In addition to a morning keynote presentation and afternoon general session, there will be 8 breakout sessions.

    The LeadingAge Annual Meeting and Expo will be held November 1 - 4th at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center (BCEC).     Join other LeadingAge member organizations from around New England in the Strategic Management Track at Lasell College for five mini-management courses in Strategy, Partnering, Marketing, Conflict and Change.  Starts October, 2015.  5 nights at Lasell College and 10 weeks online (spread over 6 months).  Learn management with peers from your field, in courses designed for busy working professionals, co-taught by experts and management faculty. No application. No pre-requisites.   • Scholarship Opportunity – The Jordan Liebhaber Scholarship
    A scholarship fund for young adults between the ages of 18-30 who are interested in working with and benefiting seniors.   These funds may be applied to educational program registration fees, conference fee and materials.  Click HERE for details on the intention of this scholarship and how to apply.
